Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Fold get August 2021 security patch update

Samsung is continuously adding more devices to its August 2021 security patch list, which was started last week with Galaxy A52. The company is now rolling out the newest security update to Galaxy Z Flip and the original Galaxy Fold.

Samsung is sending the August 2021 security patch to Galaxy Fold in France, while the Galaxy Z Flip is receiving its new update in Asian and European countries. The new OTA update is bundled with firmware versions F900FXXS5EUG1 and F700FXXS7DUG1 for Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip.

As of now, we don’t have the complete changelog, but the new update most likely does not bring anything more than the August 2021 security patch. As per Samsung’s documentation, the security patch fixes 40 vulnerabilities related to system security and privacy.

Currently, the new OTA update is rolling out in specific regions. But, it should not take too long to start heading to other regions. You can manually check for the latest update on your Samsung Galaxy phone by heading to Settings >> Software updates.

Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip are the company’s first foldable and flip phones. The former was released in 2019 with Android 9 Pie, while the latter was released in 2020 with Android 10 on board. Both the phones are currently running Android-11 based One UI 3.1 which was rolled out this year.
