Google Pixel Watch gets latest January 2023 update

Latest January 2023 update has been released for the Google Pixel watch, bringing with it bug fixes and improvements, as well as the latest security patch. This is the first update of the year for the Pixel Watch and it comes with build number RWD9.220429.073 for global units (in Japan and Taiwan, the build number is RWD9.220429.073.J1).

It’s important to note that this update is being rolled out in phases, so it may take more than a week for all users to receive it. Users will be notified via OTA notification when the update is available for their device.

The update may not bring any exciting new features, but the latest security patch is a significant update. The update includes bug fixes, like addressing the issue of third-party watch faces turning off after 15 minutes with the always-on display enabled, and it’s also worth mentioning that fall detection feature is not officially available yet. But some users have found that it works if they factory reset their Pixel Watch. According to Google, the fall detection feature will be available to all by Winter 2023.
