Honor has begun rolling out the latest software update for its Honor 9 Lite handsets. The new EMUI v9.1.0.189 software version will bring in new security improvements as well as bug fixes and new apps. The new update is being rolled out in batches, which means the update will initially be sent to a few devices while it’ll gradually be sent out to other devices in a few days and weeks.
Improved security and new apps
The Honor 9 Lite EMUI v9.1.0.189 update will bring in the May 2021 Security Patch update for overall improved system security as well as bring in apps folder to the home screen such that you can stay up to date with the trending apps.
The users will be able to download this update seamlessly as it weighs just 381 MB in size. It will also add in quick download shortcuts for these apps – GameCenter, Petal Search, Member Center, Books, Celia Keyboard, Browser, and Link Now. All you’ll need to do is download the apps by simply tapping on the shortcuts.

- Open the Settings in your device
- Click on the System and Updates menu
- Open the Software update option
- Tap on Check for Update option
