Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had recently launched the Honor 6x smartphone in US as well as India at a competitive price range and the smartphone’s main talking point was the dual-rear camera setup at such a low price point. The smartphone has been received very well in the International markets and the device was all set to get the Nougat update as the company had previously announced at the time of launch of the smartphone. The company has kept its promise of the Nougat rollout to the device but the device is currently limited to US with the update coming to other parts soon.
The company has released the update after rolling out the beta program for Honor 6X Android Nougat update in the US in March, Huawei has finally started rolling out the stable build of the Nougat OS. The roll out was commenced yesterday to all Honor 6X users in the US as an OTA update.
The new firmware update installs the EMUI 5.0 build based on Android 7.0 on Honor 6X. And with it comes all the goodies carried by Nougat which include split-window mode, improved menu settings, the Doze mode for better battery performance and many more features.
