Motorola Moto Z3 Play which was launched in 2018 has now started receiving the July 2020 security patch in some regions. The device was launched with Oreo and later updated to Android 9 Pie.
The latest update for the device brings the July security patch sans Android 10. Many users of the device have been eagerly waiting for the major update but as of now, there is no official date confirmed by the company.
Now, talking about the latest update, the Motorola Moto Z3 Play gets a build number PPWS29.131-27-1-27. The update fixes various bugs which were previously reported by the users. Along with the bug fixes, the update promises to improve stability and performance of the system.

So, all the excited Moto Z3 Play users can manually check for the OTA update via the Settings – System – Advanced – System Updates. If available, make sure to download and install the update by using the mobile data or Wi-Fi connection. Your device battery should be charged up to 50% approximately. As the update is rolling out in a phased process, it can take a few days to appear on all the units.
