Redmi Note 10 bags September 2021 security update

Xiaomi is sending a new software update to Redmi Note 10 that mainly brings the September 2021 security update. Redmi Note 10 is in fact the company’s first phone to receive the newest security patch. The update also brings several fixes to the lock screen and status bar.

The new software update for Redmi Note 10 is currently rolling out to the global variant. Soon, it will be released for the other regions where the device has been launched. The new OTA update can be identified by the firmware version V12.5.3.0.RKGMIXM.

According to the changelog, the latest update brings September 2021 security patch. It fixes the crashing issue when face unlocking and fingerprint unlocking are used simultaneously. It also fixes animation displaying issues in the status bar.

We are in the second week of the month, and now Xiaomi has started sending September 2021 security patch, while other smartphone manufacturers like Samsung and Google have started rolling out the newest security patch couple of days ago. The new security patch should fix a bunch of system security and privacy-related vulnerabilities that make the device more secure than before. 

Redmi Note 10 global variant is receiving the September 2021 security update via an OTA update. To manually check for the new update, head to Settings >> About phone and check for new updates. We have also added a download link for the latest ROM file below.
