Update 12-01-22: Now the Indian variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 has started receiving the latest January 2022 security patch update via an OTA.
Samsung has garnered quite a reputation for more often than not being the leader in releasing the latest software updates for its handsets, and they’ve gone and done that yet again. Samsung wasn’t just satisfied releasing the new Android 12 update to the users when every other OEM was doing the same, so Samsung has gone a step further and started releasing the standard security updates as well. The Samsung Galaxy S21 devices, which was the first lineup to receive the Android 12 and One UI 4.0 updates have now also become the first lineup to receive the latest January 2022 Security Update.
Changelog for the January 2022 Security Update
The latest January 2022 Security Update has started rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup, which includes Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung Galaxy S21+, and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The update for the flagship lineup will come with the build number G99xBXXU4BULF and has already started to be pushed for users in the Netherlands. It is expected to become available for Galaxy S21 Series users of other regions in the coming days and weeks.
Apart from the security fixes and enhancements included in the January security patch, this update will also improve the overall stability of the functions. This means that the update will feature many general under-the-hood improvements as well as bug fixes, which will only improve the user experience. Moreover, some of the issues that the users were having after updating to Android 12 have also been fixed.
