Samsung Galaxy Z Flip getting May 2022 security update in the US

It’s been more than two weeks since Samsung started rolling out the June 2022 security patch, but there are a couple of Galaxy phones left to receive the last month’s security patch. One of them is the Galaxy Z Flip which is now getting the May 2022 security update in the US.

The global variant of the Galaxy Z Flip has already picked up the May security update last month, but it took nearly a month to reach the US. The carrier-locked models of the device are getting the update with the firmware version F700USQU4GVE9, while the firmware version is F700U1UEU4GVE9 for the unlocked model.

The May 2022 security patch for Samsung Galaxy phones fixes 7 critical, 23 high, and 2 moderate levels of CVEs from Google and Samsung to enhance the system security and privacy. The update also includes device stability improvements. It’s a minor security patch update that does not include any new features or UI changes. So, you are unlikely to see any change on your device after installing the latest update.
