[C.05] OnePlus Nord 2 gets another Android 12 update, and it’s confusing

OnePlus Nord 2’s recent software updates have put users in a confusing state and the latest software update is forcing us to think about the software update plan for the Nord 2. The latest software update for the OnePlus Nord 2, identified by the C.05 build version, has started to roll out. Interestingly, it brings the May 2022 security patch and a couple of fixes and optimizations. However, the device has already received the June 2022 security patch through an OTA update which was released last week.

The June 2022 security update was based on Android 11 OS. But, OnePlus has already a stable Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update for the Nord 2. The company’s plan of rolling out software updates to the OnePlus Nord 2 is really hard to understand. First, the company releases an Android 12 update, then it sends the June security update based on Android 11, and again starts rolling out a new update based on Android 12. The device is juggling between Android 11 and Android 12.

Coming to the latest software update for the OnePlus Nord 2, it can be identified by a C.05 build version. Thankfully, it is based on Android 12. According to the changelog shared by users on the OnePlus community forum, the device is getting the May 2022 security patch along with some fixes and optimizations related to the camera, Bitmoji stickers, and Game Space.

The OxygenOS C.05 update for the OnePlus Nord 2 is currently rolling out to those users in India who had updated their devices to the C.04 release. The update might be rolling out in batches.
