  1. Open the Twitter or X app on your handset
  2. Open the tweet that has the video that you wish to download
  3. After that, play the video in full screen
  4. Here, you’ll need to tap the three dots in the top right corner
  5. In the Flyout window, you should see the Download Video and then tap on it
  6. This will allow you to download the video on your smartphone

Elon Musk has also mentioned that the app will soon be introducing an easier way of downloading videos. This will be possible by long pressing on the video.

How to restrict others from downloading your video?

  1. Write a Tweet and then attach a video to it, like you have been doing till now but do not publish it yet
  2. Once you’ve uploaded the video, you’ll find the Tweet preview, tap the edit option
  3. Here, you will get the option to “Allow Video to be Downloaded”
  4. You can control it based on your preferences
  5. Now, you’ll be able to publish the Tweet
