It’s been almost a year since the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series, and this means that the launch of its successor, the Galaxy Tab S9 series, is imminent too.
Today we will get the first look at what the Tab S9 will look like courtesy of serial leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer via the Wolf of Tablets.
From the CAD renderings, it can be seen that the front part of the device is almost fully covered with a screen of 1752×2800 resolution along with the embedded optical fingerprint scanner, which will be most likely protected with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
At the rear, as usual, the magnetic attachment area for the S Pen can be seen along with the dual camera array, which now follows the design of the Galaxy S23’s camera array.
On the sides, there is a single USB Type C 3.2 port, which will support charging speeds of up to 45 watts. It is accompanied by a quad speaker setup that is tuned by AKG. There’s no sign of the return of headphone jack.
Last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 series was the best Android offering in the iPad-dominant tablet market, and this year’s Tab S9 series will also follow the same path by using top-of-the-line specs.
Additionally, it’s been rumoured that the S9 series will offer water and dust ingress protection.
Historically, Android tablets have always lost out to the iPad in the productivity area, but both Samsung and Google are continuously improving and adding a host of productivity features. It remains to be seen how much the S9 series will give competition to the iPads.
