Method 2: Disable your antivirus software

Disable the windows antivirus program by following these steps –
- Click the start button and go to Settings
- Now, click on Update & Security before heading to Windows Security
- Select Virus & Threat Protection before clicking on Manage Settings
- Now, turn off the Real-Time Protection Switch
Add Elden Ring to the Exclusions list
- Begin by clicking the Start button
- Head over to Settings and click on Update & Security
- Now, choose Window Security and select Virus & Threat protection
- Click on Manage Settings and then select Add or Remove Exclusions
- Click on Add an Exclusion and then click on Folder
- Look for the Elden Ring folder and then select it
Method 3: Allocate more system resources to the game
You’ll have to ensure that your PC’s system resources are being used by Elden Ring and not shared with other applications. You wouldn’t want other open applications like Discord, Chrome browser, or any other software not related to the game to consume resources meant for Elden Ring. Ensure that RAM-consuming apps aren’t running when you’re playing the game.
End all running tasks when playing Elden Ring
- Open the task manager by simply right-clicking the Start Button and clicking on Task Manager
- Now, click on More details before heading over to the Processes tab
- Right-click on the apps that are running and then select End Task
- You’ll have to do this for all tasks except Steam and Elden Ring
- You will be able to play Elden Ring now without any freezing issues
