[Fix 2022] Reddit Not Loading on WiFi or Mobile Data

Reddit is among the most popular social media platforms on the internet. Although Reddit isn’t as popular as some other social networking platforms like Facebook and Instagram, Reddit still maintains a loyal fanbase. Reddit has communities that cover almost all subjects and are very informative. Despite all the positives of Reddit, there are times when the platform goes through some issues. One of the recent is the Reddit Not Loading on Wi-Fi or Mobile Data error. In this guide, you’ll get to know about the different methods to tackle this problem.

Method 1: Check the internet connection

Check your internet connection properly and see if it’s working properly or not. A poor or unstable internet connection can easily lead to server connectivity issues. It’ll be better to contact your ISP and increase the network speed or fix the technical issues related to your IP address. Sometimes, upgrading your data plan to a higher package could fix this issue.

Method 2: Restart Reddit

If you’re using the Reddit app for accessing Reddit, you should restart it. Remove it from the background and foreground before opening it up again. For browser users, you’ll have to close the browser and then open the browser again. Restarting the browser could fix the loading issue for most users.

Method 3: Power cycle your Wi-Fi

  • Turn off your Wi-Fi router from the power source
  • Once the LED indicators are powered off, unplug the power cable from the Wi-Fi router
  • Wait around 5 minutes and plug back the power cable into the Wi-Fi router
  • Turn on the Wi-Fi router and then check for the server connectivity error

Method 4: Clear cache

Cache data gets collected by an app over time for improving the loading time. This data, when corrupted, could cause all sorts of issues for the end-user. You should try and clear the cache data to see if the problem is resolved.

If you’re an Android user, you should follow these simple steps –

  • Open the Settings
  • Head over to the All Apps section
  • Search for Reddit in the list and once you see it, you should tap on it
  • Tap on System and Cache
  • Lastly, tap on clear cache

If you’re using Reddit on your browser, you should follow these simple steps –

  • Open the Chrome browser
  • Tap on the three-dot icon and choose Settings
  • Tap on Security and Privacy and once it opens up, tap on Clear browsing data
  • You’ll see checkboxes to clear out cookies and other things alongside the cache
  • As you need to clear the cache, select cache before tapping on Clear
