Honor 7A EMUI 8.0.0.230 update brings a new security patch, optimizations, and more

Honor is sending a new software update to the budget-friendly Honor 7A. The EMUI 8.0.0.230 update brings the January 2021 security patch, system optimizations, and more. While other smartphone manufacturers are rolling out the September 2021 security patch, Honor is not done yet rolling out the January 2021 security patch.

According to the changelog, the new software update for Honor 7A optimizes – “the smart search function, pull down from the desktop to quickly enter, search for local or online content”. It also optimizes the system stability in some specific scenes.

The EMUI 8.0.0.230 update adds quick download icons for Education Center and Link Now apps. Honor has added a popular recommendation folder on the desktop for fast access to selected applications. Honor 7A users who have not received the new update yet can manually check the status using the steps given below.

  • Open Settings app
  • Go to System & updates -> Software update
  • Tap on “Check for updates”
  • Download and install the update

Via My Huawei App

  • Download and install the update
