Lag and stuttering

Method 1: Set high priority in Task Manager

  • Right-click on the taskbar and then click on “Task Manager” to open it
  • Alternatively, you should press “Ctrl + Shift + Esc” simultaneously
  • Head over to the Details tab and then look for CS2.exe in the list
  • Now, right-click on the app and then click on “Priority”
  • You need to set CS2.exe to “High Priority”

Method 2: Set maximum matchmaking ping

  • Launch the game and then click the cog icon present at the top-left for opening CS2 settings
  • Now, go to the Game settings and then adjust the slider for “Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping” to 100 as it’ll set the filter to the maximum ping
  • Ensure that you’re setting the “Max Acceptable Game Traffic Bandwidth” settings to “Unrestricted”
  • Make sure that you’re playing on a good controller and consider the wired connection

Method 3: Close background apps

Open the Task Manager and head over to the Startup apps. Here, you need to disable the ones that you won’t be needing when playing CS2.
