The launch of the new iPhone 15 Series has introduced a series of new and exciting features. One of those includes the Battery’s Cycle Count. Previously, users had to carry out complicated methods like copy-pasting analytics into Notes and looking for “last_value_CycleCount. However, with the iPhone 15, this process has become increasingly simpler.
In the iPhone 15 Series, users will be able to view battery cycle information by going to Settings, General, and then going to About. Here, they will find a “Battery” section present toward the bottom of the page.
Moreover, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models come with a new battery health setting that prevents them from charging beyond 80% at all times when enabled. This will help give the battery a longer lifespan.
How to check Battery’s Cycle Count on iPhone 15 / production date and the date of first use?
Although battery health was visible on the iPhone for many years in the form of “Maximum Capacity”, this wasn’t the case with seeing the specific number of cycles. This is a valuable metric that has been added and it’ll help determine the battery’s condition. A charge cycle will be registered each time you delete the battery’s capacity.
Apple’s lithium-ion batteries work in charge cycles. You will be completing one charge cycle once you have used (discharged) an amount equalling 100% of the battery’s capacity, even if it isn’t all from one charge. For instance, you could use 75% of the battery’s capacity today and then recharge it overnight. If you’re using 25% the following day, this means you have discharged a total of 100% as the two days will add up to form one charge cycle. The capacity of any type of battery diminishes after a certain amount of recharging.
In the new iPhone 15 Series, if you want to view Battery’s Cycle Count, here are the steps you need to follow –

- Now, go to General
- After that, go to About
- Look in the “Battery” section and you will be able to get the Battery’s Cycle Count on iPhone 15
What is a battery cycle?
A battery cycle is a complete discharge and recharge of a battery. For example, if you use your iPhone until the battery is empty, and then you recharge it to 100%, that is one battery cycle.
How many battery cycles does an iPhone battery last?
Apple lithium-ion batteries are designed to retain up to 80% of their original capacity after 500 charge cycles. However, the actual number of battery cycles that an iPhone battery lasts can vary depending on a number of factors, such as usage patterns, environmental conditions, and temperature.
Notes:
- The new Battery section is only available on the iPhone 15 and newer models. If you have an older iPhone, you can still check your battery cycle count using a third-party app, such as Battery Life or CoconutBattery.
- A battery cycle is not the same as a charging cycle. A charging cycle is a period of time during which the battery is connected to a charger. A battery cycle can consist of multiple charging cycles.
