Steps to get the Ancient Sword in Final Fantasy 16
Before you can get your hands on the Ancient Sword, you will first need to complete “Out of the Shadow”, the 32nd quest in Final Fantasy 16. After you have done that, the Onward main quest will begin and Clive will have to travel to Boklad, a new area located in The Dhalmekian Republic’s northeast corner. Once you have access to this area, the hunt for the Ancient Sword will begin.
If you have already activated the Boklad Obelisk, you will be able to fast-travel there and proceed south into The Steps of the Forgotten. Instead of leaving this area, you will have to travel to the center and then turn right to face southwest. Here, you’ll be faced with a small hill that you can ascend. Approaching the wall at the top will prompt you to climb into a new area. Players who have completed the “Live and Let Live” side quest will be familiar with this area but they might have missed the treasure chest that contains the Ancient Sword.
Once you climb this way, you will see a treasure chest directly ahead. Interacting with it will reward you with the Ancient Sword, one of the secret weapons in Final Fantasy 16.
