Steps To Install Google’s Fuchsia OS On the Pixelbook: Google has been developing a brand new open-source OS named Fuchsia and it will be a platform independent OS. That means, it can run on smartphones, tablets, and computers. You could try out the brand new OS if you have Acer Switch Alpha 12 or the Intel NUC. But the good news is that you can also try out the OS on the latest Google Pixelbook.

Google has made a new page on Github to explain how to install Fuchsia OS on the Pixelbook. The rumor has it has the test version of Fuchsia OS is primarily for high-end laptops for now. Before you can install Fuchsia OS in your latest Pixelbook, update your ChromeOS.Don’t worry we will be covering all the required steps to Install Google’s Fuchsia OS On the Pixelbook

Warning –

Installing Fuchsia OS on your Pixelbook will erase all the locally stored state on your Pixelbook. You will require a USB drive to install Fuchsia OS but it has been deemed as destructive of the USB device.

Steps To Update ChromeOS

Step 1. Boot your Pixelbook normally. Connect it to a wireless Wi-Fi connection.

Step 2. Click on your account photo and go to Settings.

Step 3. Click on the hamburger menu icon, and then select About ChromeOS.

Step 4. Under the heading Google ChromeOS, click on Check For Updates option.

If a new version is available, it will start downloading automatically. Once the downloading and updating is done, restart your Pixelbook. Now, go to Step 3 again and make sure the version of ChromeOS is great than 62 to install Fuchsia OS.

 

Steps To Install Google’s Fuchsia OS On the Pixelbook

Step 1. Switch off your Pixelbook and reboot in Recovery Mode by pressing Refesh+Esc key together.

Step 2. Then Press Ctrl+D to go to Develop Mode. Press Enter to confirm. Wait for a few minutes for the system to re-configure and when it is done, you will head two beep sounds.

Step 3. The device will reboot automatically and you will be in Developer Mode henceforth.

Step 4. Boot into ChromeOS now. You will see the message ‘OS Verification Is Off’ on the screen and after 30 seconds, the booting process will continue.

Step 5. Once you see the login screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Refresh to enter the command shell.

Step 6. The username will be chromos and the password will be blank.

Step 7. Enable USB booting by running the command

sudo crossystem dev_boot_usb=1

Step 8. Default to USB booting by running the command

sudo crossystem dev_default_boot=usb

Step 9. Reboot by typing sudo reboot
