Huawei P50 Pro has started picking up a new HarmonyOS software update that brings the February 2022 security patch. It includes fixes to dozens of vulnerabilities found in Huawei phones to improve the system’s security and privacy.
The latest software update for Huawei P50 Pro comes with the HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.241, an upgrade from the baseline version 2.0.0.240. The changelog includes the addition of February 2022 security patch and nothing else. Hence, it is unlikely to bring any major changes like new features, UI improvements to the device.
The February 2022 HarmonyOS security patch for Huawei smartphones includes fixes for 1 CVE in the kernel, 1 CVE in the system, and 40 CVEs found in third-party libraries.
The February 2022 HarmonyOS security patch is rolling out to the Chinese variant of the Huawei P50 Pro as the global version comes with EMUI 12 skin. If you’re a user of this device in China, then you might have already received the update. If you haven’t, then manually update your phone using the steps mentioned below.
How to download the latest update on Huawei P50 Pro
Via Settings app:
- Open Settings app
- Go to System & updates -> Software update
- Tap on Check for Updates
- Hit the Download and Install button
- Reboot the phone
Via My Huawei app:
- Open My Huawei app
- Tap on Update
- Now, tap on the Download and Install button
- Reboot the phone
