Samsung has already started rolling out May 2021 security patch update which has now reached several Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series. In fact, Samsung is the first smartphone brand to roll out the latest security patch. Surprisingly, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series are now receiving a new software update which also brings May 2021 security patch.
The changelog of the new update is the same as that of the previous update. As of now, it’s not known, what new changes the update brings, which are not there in the previous one. The last update for Galaxy S20 series added Dual screen recording and May 2021security patch, while for the S21 series, that brought improvements to cameras & Quick Share and latest security patch.
Sammobile report mentions that the new update might be fixing the security vulnerabilities found in Qualcomm modem, which can affect a wide range of Samsung devices.
The latest update is currently rolling out in Germany with firmware version G98xFXXU7DUE1 and G99xBXXU3AUE1 respectively for Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series. Users can manually check for the latest update by navigating to Settings >> Software updates and then tap on “Download and install“.
