November 2021 Security Update brings OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 to OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T

The OnePlus 6 Series has received its last major update with Android 11 on OxygenOS 11, meaning that any OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users will not receive the OxygenOS 12 update, and this has been officially confirmed by OnePlus.

However, the smartphone manufacturing giant is working on providing a new software update, the November 2021 Security Patch and it will accompany the latest OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 update for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T devices. Previously, if any user updated to a stable build faced severe system-related bugs and issues, however, now that problem has been fixed with the latest firmware.

Unfortunately, the version of the OS remains unchanged, anchoring to the Android 11 OS. Furthermore, the changelog for this update does not report any other mention of particular changes or/and additions, except for the security patch of November 2021. The international version of this firmware is the OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 and it’ll continue to reach the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users globally.

November 2021 Security Update brings OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 to OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T

OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 has started rolling out to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The changelog for the update just mentions “improved system stability” and the November 2021 Security Patch, with seemingly no other changes. This will be the first update for both smartphones since September, when OxygenOS 11.1.1.1 brought along the September 2021 patch and several bug fixes.

OnePlus is pushing the OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in a staged rollout, but if you’re not the one to wait, you can go and visit the links mentioned above and download the update manually. As is the case with OnePlus devices, you’ll need to download the correct package and move it to the root directory of your smartphone’s internal storage. Then, you should over to the Settings -> System -> System Update -> Local Update and then select the downloaded file to start the installation.
