Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 Pro receiving May 2021 security patch update

Xiaomi has released a new software update for Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 Pro. The update for both the phone brings May 2021 security patch for system security improvements from different kinds of security vulnreabilties.

V12.0.4.0.QJPINX - Poco M2 Pro May 2021 update

The May update for Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 Pro is currently rolling out in India with software versions V12.0.8.0.QJOINXM and V12.0.4.0.QJPINXM respectively. The latest update is still based on Android 10 OS. In addition to May 2021 security patch, the update adds a new change that can automatically report location info before switching off the device. 

If you are a Redmi Note 9 or Poco M2 Pro user in India and have not received the update yet, then manually check the status by heading to Settings >> About phone >> System update. In case you want to manually install the update, download the package using the links given below.
