After much hype, Samsung has finally kicked off the Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta. This is the newest version of Samsung custom skin and it will be released for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series first.
Until now, the company had been testing the new One UI 6 Beta internally, but now, all users having eligible devices will be able to experience the beta.
Google is also tipped to release the stable Android 14 update for its Pixel smartphones soon. Some other OEMs have also started the Android 14 Closed Beta for their flagship models.
Samsung announced One UI 6 Beta before removing it
The Android 14-based One UI 6 Beta would initially be available for users in South Korea, Germany, and the US. It will soon be coming to other regions as well but there is no expected timeline yet. It could happen anytime, either in a matter of hours or a matter of days.
Samsung announced the release of One UI 6 Beta for Samsung Galaxy S23 users through its official Samsung Germany Newsroom website. However, there seems to have been some confusion regarding what was published in the article.
It seems like Samsung mistakenly published the article. The OEM has since removed the article from the Germany Newsroom. According to the article, the beta program would only be available for Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra for now.
New update brings changes to Quick Settings
The new One UI 6 brings along new Quick Settings look, which has been completely revamped and some parts of the quick settings have adopted the stock quick settings. Quick Settings that are often used are now big for easy access. The full Quick Settings can be opened with just a single swipe down from the upper right corner.
Moreover, the new firmware will also allow users to apply different images for different modes. For instance, users can decide to have a different wallpaper for Sleep Mode and others for other modes.
