Samsung Galaxy A53 5G August 2022 security update reaches US

Samsung has already distributed the August security patch to all the high-end Galaxy phones. And, the company is aggressively updating the mid-range phones to the latest security patch. Although the company has already pushed the August 2022 security update for Galaxy A53 5G owners, the rollout was just limited to the international variant, now available for the US variant.

The carrier-unlocked Galaxy A53 5G in the United States is receiving the update with the firmware version A536U1UEU3AVH2. As per a Sammobile report, the update is available across all carrier networks, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular South, Comcast, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.

Although the latest software update bumps the device security and privacy, don’t expect it to bring new features, performance improvements, or any UI changes. The update mainly focuses on improving the user security and data privacy.

The August 2022 security patch for Samsung Galaxy phones fixes dozens of vulnerabilities of different severity levels. It includes vulnerabilities related to Samsung DeX, Samsung Knox, Samsung Dialer, Mac address leaks, and more.

If you are a proud Galaxy A53 5G user in the US, the update can reach your phone anytime. In case you haven’t got a software update notification, head over to the Settings app, tap on Software updates and click Download and install to update your phone.

Samsung released the Galaxy A53 5G mid-range phone earlier this year with Android 12 out of the box. It will receive four major OS updates, as per the company’s software update policy. Samsung has officially started testing One UI 5.0 beta on Galaxy S22. However, some reports believe that the One UI 5.0 beta testing has also begun for the Galaxy A53. It indicates that the Android 13 update for this device could be released sooner than expected.
