Samsung Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip 5G pick up October 2021 security update

Samsung was again the first to release the latest security update that debuted on Galaxy Z Flip3. Now it’s time for the original Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip 5G to receive the October 2021 security patch via the new software update.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is getting the new OTA update France, bundled with the firmware version F900FXXS6FUI5. It brings the Android security patch level to October 2021, which fixes over 60 system security and privacy vulnerabilities. Therefore, it is recommended to install the update as soon as it hits your phone.

The second-generation Galaxy Z Flip phone, Galaxy Z Flip 5G is also receiving the October 2021 security update. It is currently rolling in Australia and Europe with the firmware version F707BXXS5EUI3. Currently, we don’t have the complete changelog for any of the two phones. However, it might bring some stability improvements and bug fixing.

Samsung Galaxy Fold was released back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out of the box. The device has been already upgraded with Android 11, and recently received the One UI 3.1.1 update. Galaxy Z Flip 5G debuted las year with Android 10 on board. The phone received Android-11 based One UI 3.0 update earlier this year, and recently bagged One UI 3.1.1 update, that added some new features/improvements to the foldable phones.
