Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy S20 FE 5G get August 2021 security update

Samsung’s August 2021 security patch is rolling out at a good pace, which was started in the last week of July 2021. As of now, the company has updated dozens of Galaxy phones with the newest security patch which include – Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Fold, and more. Now, Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy S20 FE have reportedly started receiving the August 2021 security update.

As per Sammobile, the software update for Galaxy Tab S6 is currently rolling out in Germany and South Korea. It is bundled with firmware version T865XXOS4CUG1. On the other hand, Galaxy S20 FE 5G is receiving its new update in various European regions including – Austria, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Nordic countries, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Baltic region, and the Czech Republic. It carries firmware version G781BXXU4CUH1.

It is just a minor security patch update that does not bring any new features, optimizations, or UI changes. Samsung recently detailed the August 2021 security patch, according to which it fixes 40 vulnerabilities related to system security and privacy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 was released back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out of the box and the Galaxy S20 FE 5G came last year with Android 10 on board. Both the Galaxy devices are currently running Android 11 OS, thanks to the major OS upgrade(s). Talking about Android 12, Galaxy S20 FE 5G will receive the next major OS upgrade, but the Tab S6 is unlikely to receive Android 12 upgrade.
