Sons of the Forest is the upcoming, long-awaited sequel to one of the best survival games ever released – The Forest. This game has entered an early format but currently, it is only available for those who can play on PC. The game opens up with a plane crash on an island, where you will be attempting to avoid getting eaten up by cannibalistic mutants.
Further, it also has new gameplay while maintaining the energy of its predecessor – gather up resources and kill your enemies using everything from pistols to slingshots to a variety of axes and taser weapons. Despite delays in 2022, the developers stuck to the final drop date and released the game in Early Access on PC.
This has left many players wondering if it’ll arrive for Xbox and other platforms. In this guide, you will get to know will Sons of the Forest be released for Xbox, PS4, and PS5.
Will Sons of the Forest be released for Xbox, PS4, and PS5?
As of right now, the game’s console release date hasn’t been announced yet for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, or Nintendo Switch. However, the good news is that the developers haven’t ruled out bringing the game to consoles. It will launch for PC to start with but it may branch out later.
Sons of the Forest has already been delayed multiple times. Initially planned to be released in 2021, it slipped to May 2022, eventually to October 2022, and then finally to February 2023. This also saw the game move on from a full release to Early Access so it’ll probably be best to expect the game to be released for consoles later rather than sooner.
While the game is promising a maximum of 8 months in Early Access, the previous Forest game came out in 2014 and fully on PC in April 2018 with the PlayStation 4 version, following in November of the same year. The end of Early Access will likely be the deciding factor on when it’ll arrive on Xbox or PlayStation.
