When will Sons of the Forest PS5 be released? Despite facing several postponements, Endnight Games managed to stick to their final release schedule, launching the game in Early Access specifically for PC players. Will Sons of the Forest get released for PS4, PS5, and Xbox?
Currently, Sons of the Forest is only available for PC users and there is no console version announced for the game. The PC version is in the Early Access stage, with a 6 to 8-month window being planned until full release. It is unlikely that there will be any console announcements before the final release.
The lack of any news on the game’s release on other platforms does not mean that the studio is not interested in releasing it on other platforms. Developers have stated in a development interview that they’d love to release the game for consoles in the future but they’re currently focused on delivering the best experience possible for PC users.
Sons of the Forest has already been delayed a number of times. Initially, the game was planned for a 2021 release that got delayed to May 2022 and then October 2022. It was eventually released in February 2023. It also saw the game moving from a full release to Early Access so it would probably be best to not expect a console release anytime soon.
While the game is promising a maximum of 8 months in the Early Access stage, the previous iteration, The Forest, was launched in 2014 before arriving fully for PC in April 2018. The PS4 version arrived a few months later in November 2018. Early Access will likely be the deciding factor when it comes to when the game will arrive for PlayStation and Xbox.
