Samsung is sending a new software update to the three year old Galaxy A6. The new update brings the May 2021 security patch which fixes a bunch of security and privacy related vulnerabilities.

The May security update for Galaxy A6 (2018) is currently expanding in the United States and Columbia. And, we can expect the new OTA update to reach all the remaining regions over the next few weeks. The new build can be identified by firmware version A600GNUBU9CUE3.

May 2021 security patch for Samsung phone fixes 3 critical, 24 high, and 17 moderate level Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), as per Samsung’s documentation. This improves device security and therefore, it is always recommended to keep your device updated with the latest security patch available. Samsung users can manually check for the latest update on their devices by heading to Settings >> Software updates.

Samsung released the Galaxy A6 (2018) back in May 2018. So, the device has already completed three years of software updates. And, we not sure, how long Samsung will continue to deliver security updates to Galaxy A8 (2018). But, we can expect the device to continue receiving software updates for a couple of more months.
