Android 13 Update Now Available for Asus Zenfone 9

Asus has started rolling out the Android 13 update to its Zenfone 9 smartphone. According to tech news website GSMArena, multiple reports from Zenfone 9 owners in various countries have confirmed that the update is now available. Unlike other companies, Asus stages its rollouts by serial number, so it is essentially a matter of luck as to whether a particular device will receive the update.

The new build has the December 5, 2022 security patch level and is labelled WW 33.0804.2060.65. After updating the software, users will be presented with a tutorial highlighting some of the new features of Android 13. This tutorial appears to have been created by Google, but it is impossible to confirm this for certain.

Among the new features in Android 13 are improved notification permissions, cross-device copy and paste, and increased privacy for app media access. GSMArena reports that the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip are next in line to receive the Android 13 update, with the rollout expected to begin next month.
