Now Android 7.1.2 Factory Images and OTAs Now Available for Supported Devices: Google has always been one of those companies that lives up to its word whether it is about new releases or about security updates for supported Nexus and Pixel devices. This time, we will not only receive the factory images and OTA zip files for April Security update but we will also be receiving separate Android 7.1.2 Nougat builds with latest security patches.

As far as the latest security update goes, the security patch level up to 1st April contains the patches for level 1 vulnerability marked as critical, level 6 marked high and level 5 marked as moderately severity. The complete security patch level is up to 5th April and it contains all those patches as well as patches for the 8 critical, 14 moderate and 26 high severity vulnerabilities. You can also find more information about all these vulnerabilities at Google’s April Security Bulletin.

The security patch files for all the supported devices can be found on both Android 7.1.1 as well as the recently release 7.1.2 build so that all the users who are flashing manually will have two choices to choose from. Normally, it is advised that you should be on the latest Android version with the latest available security update but if there is a case where you don’t find the update according to your liking, you will also have the option to switch to the previous version without having to lose out on the security update.
