Since Video Horror Society was released, many players have been reporting different issues. One of the most common issues is that the game keeps on crashing and worse, it crashes during startup. Method 1: Run the game file as an admin
- Right-click on the VideoHorrorSociety.exe shortcut file on your PC
- Select Properties and then click on the Compatibility tab
- Click on the Run this program as an administrator checkbox and checkmark it
- Now, click on Apply and then select OK for saving the changes
- Double-click on the game’s exe file to launch it
Method 2: Update the graphics drivers
- Right-click on the Start Menu for opening up the Quick Access Menu
- Click on the Device Manager from the list for opening the interface
- Now, you’ll have to double-click on Display adapters for expanding it
- Right-click on the dedicated graphics card name that you’re using for bringing the context menu
- Click on the Update driver and choose Search automatically for drivers
- The system automatically checks the available update
- If any update is available, it’ll automatically download and install the newest version
- Once it is done, ensure that you restart your PC to apply the changes
Method 3: Disable fullscreen optimizations
- Open the Steam launcher and then click on Library
- Right-click on Video Horror Society and then click on Manage
- Select Browse local files before going to Video Horror Society installed location
- Right-click on VideoHorrorSociety.exe and then select Properties
- Click on the Compatibility Tab before tick-marking Disable fullscreen optimizations to enable it
- Once it’s done, click on Apply and press OK to save the changes
Method 4: Update Windows
- Press Windows + I keys for opening the Windows Settings menu
- Click on Windows Update located on the left pane and then Check for Updates
- If there’s any new update available, you must select Download and Install
- Wait for the update process to get completed
- Once it’s done, reboot your PC to apply the changes
Method 5: Check for any optional updates
- Press Windows + I keys for opening up the Windows Settings menu
- Click on the Windows Update from the left pane and then click on Advanced Options
- Scroll down a bit and then find the Additional Options section
- Click on Optional Updates
- If there’s an update available, you should select the update
- Click on Download and Install and reopen the system once the update has been installed
