Samsung Galaxy A20s, A50s & A70 get January 2020 security patch

Another setup of Galaxy A series of devices has started getting the latest January 2020 patch update. Yes Samsung Galaxy A20s, A50s & A70 are now getting the January 2020 security patch update. Previously, Galaxy Note 10 and  Galaxy S10 have also received the update along with Galaxy A lineup devices.

Samsung has outperformed Google in releasing the latest security patch updates to its devices. This is really insane, Google will start releasing the January patch update next week while Samsung has updated more than 10 devices both in the premium and mid-range segment to the January 2020 security update.

Galaxy A20s A207FXXS2ASL3 January 2020 update

Samsung galaxy A20s SM-A207F has received the January 2020 patch update with baseband version A207FXXS2ASL3. The update brings stability to the system and improves the camera. The new update bumps the bootloader from V1 to V2

Galaxy A50s A507FNXXS3ASLA January 2020 update

The Samsung Galaxy A50s has also been getting the January security update with baseband version A507FNXXS3ASLA. The update will upgrade the bootloader of the device from V2 to V3

Galaxy A70 A705FXXS5ASL1 January 2020 update

The new January 2020 update is being rolled out for the SM-A2705F variant of the Galaxy A70. The update comes with build number A705FXXS5ASL1. The new update brings the new bootloader V5 to the device.

If you’re using any of the above devices then you should receive the OTA update very soon. Otherwise, you can check for the OTA update manually in order to get notified. Just go to the device Settings menu > select the Software Update > tap on the Download and Install option.

Note: As the new updates come with a new bootloader, users can’t downgrade to the older software versions. So keep that in mind.
