On the right-hand side on the Gboard app, there will be a microphone icon. By tapping on the icon, Google Assistant would listen and type whatever you’re speaking as long as you’re using a supported language. Once you’re done, you can hit “Send”. Since updating to Android 14 QPR2 beta, many users aren’t able to use Google Assistant Voice Typing as the microphone icon is grayed out with no way to activate it.

So far, there are only temporary solutions like clearing out the Google and Gboard apps’ cache/storage or force-stopping them but the issue tends to reappear. Alternatively, you can also replace US English and English Canada in the settings

This is frustrating for those who use Google Assistant Voice Typing on their Pixel devices but you should understand that the update is still in the Beta stage. During the beta stage, there is no guarantee that everything will work accordingly. You should be patient as the issue could be resolved by the stable release.
