Google rolled out June 2022 Security for Pixel devices ahead of the Pixel Feature Drop

Just like every month, June arrived and Google released the latest Android security update on the first Monday of the month. The rollout for the Pixel devices started immediately after the official announcement, which means that the first security gaps are already patched, the problems are fixed, and new features have been brought to the devices. Additionally, Pixel smartphone users can also look forward to a separate update including a Pixel Feature Drop.

Changelog

Many bugs and security-related issues were reported in Android for the month of June. The same components were the focus of the problem and the bugs found. In June 2022, there were numerous other plugged gaps in the system components and Qualcomm components. In total, the Google developers discovered and patched 37 medium and 5 critical vulnerabilities this month. The most severe of these was the critical vulnerability in the Media Framework component, which allows a remote attacker to use a specially crafted file for running arbitrary code in the context of a privileged process. There are also other bug fixes and enhancements to improve the system’s stability and improve the user experience.
