The Honor Play 3 has begun receiving a new HarmonyOS software upgrade, which adds the December 2021 security patch to improve overall device security. According to reports from China, this update is accompanied with the most up-to-date HarmonyOS OS 2.0.0.212 version.
Huawei has been proactive in providing security updates for their devices, and the December 2021 patch will further secure users’ data and privacy. Aside from the security patch, the Honor Play 3’s changelog contains no additional changes for the system.
Honor has already begun distributing the Honor Play 3 December 2021 security update to all existing Honor Play 3 devices throughout the world in a phased manner. However, you may manually check for software updates from your smartphone’s settings menu if you can’t wait for an OTA notification.
Steps to update
To upgrade the Honor Play 3 to the most recent software, go to Settings -> System & Updates, then Software Updates. After that, wait for seconds while your device connects to the server and checks for updates. If a software update is available, tap on the download button and wait until the update file is downloaded. Make sure your device’s data connection doesn’t get lost throughout the timeline.
Make certain there’s adequate storage and battery life before applying the new version.
