How to turn off HDR Video Playback on Android

Most people today prefer to stream video content in a High Dynamic Range (HDR video range) rather than the Standard Dynamic Range. This is the case because HDR Videos bring in a wider range of colors and brightness levels compared to the latter. Then why you would want to leave it and jump over to the standard video quality?

For some users, the HDR’s peak brightness capability is much more than what they’d require under certain circumstances. Meanwhile, some Samsung users have also stated that due to the high contrast in HDR, the screen tends to become too dark and they’re not able to view the video properly.

Unfortunately, Android doesn’t have a built-in option for turning off HDR Video playback. However, you shouldn’t worry as there is a workaround. In this guide, you will get to know how to turn off HDR Video Playback on Android.
