Huawei is sending a new software update to Mate 20 Lite and Mate 20 Pro. The new update is currently rolling out in Europe and brings the latest security patch released in July 2021.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite is receiving a new software update bundled with the software version EMUI 10.0.0.288. It brings the July 2021 security patch which improves system security and privacy by fixing different levels of exploits. It is a minor security patch and does not bring any new features or changes to the user interface. The OTA update comes with a download size of 200MB.
The new software update for Huawei Mate 20 Pro is identified by the software version EMUI 11.0.0.172. It also brings the July 2021 security update. The new security patch for Mate 20 Lite and Mate 20 Pro fixes 5 critical and 9 high levels of CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) to better protect the system from vulnerabilities. The OTA package weighs 111MB in size.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite and Mate 20 Pro users in Europe have already started receiving the new OTA update. In case, you haven’t received it yet, then manually update your phone using any of the methods given below.

Via Settings App
- Open Settings app
- Go to System & updates -> Software update
- Then, click on Check for updates
- Download and install the update.

- Open Support app
- Go to the Services tab
- Click Update
- Then, click on Check for updates
- Download and install the update.
