Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro receiving February 2021 security patch update

Huawei is sending a new software update for the Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro users. The update bumps the Android security patch level to February 2021, which increases the device security.

In addition to a new security patch, the latest build optimizes compatibility with some third-party applications and Optimize interface display for a better experience. Changes that are not common to the phones include some interface display effects optimization for Nova 8. For Nova 8 Pro, it is optimization for the knuckle gestures experience.

The latest update for Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro can be identified with EMUI version 11.0.0.152 and 11.0.0.137 respectively. As usual, it is rolling out in batches, hence may take few days to reach your smartphone. Alternatively, you can check for the latest update manually by heading to Settings >> System >> Software update >> Check for updates. You can also update your Huawei smartphone using the Support app. For this, navigate to Support app >> Services >> Update >> Check for updates.
