Huawei P40 Pro gets stable EMUI 12 update in Europe

Huawei has started to send the stable EMUI 12 update to the P40 Pro users in Europe. The new update brings UI changes, loads of new features, and improvements, including the Smart Folder, new gestures, multi-device file management, Huawei Share speed improvements, and more.

The popular P40 Pro smartphone was launched in 2020 with EMUI 10.1. Early last year, it got the EMUI 11, and now, the device has started to receive the EMUI 12 as its second major upgrade. The changelog for the latest update is no different than the update rolled out to the bets testers.

Huawei P40 Pro users in Europe have started receiving the stable build of EMUI 12. Those, who have not received it yet should manually check the status using the steps mentioned below.

How to check for EMUI 12 update on Huawei P40 Pro

Via Settings App

  • Open Settings app
  • Go to System & updates -> Software update 
  • Then, click on Check for updates
  • Download and install the update.

Via Support App

  • Open Support app
  • Go to the Services tab
  • Click Update
  • Then, click on Check for updates
  • Download and install the update.

This update introduces EMUI 12 and provides an intuitive interface and a cross-device area in the control panel for better intelligent collaboration.

[Font]

Supports more flexible font customization where you can adjust font size and width with a slider.

[Neuromorphic Design]

Applies the concept of neuromorphism to UI elements. Simple colors, tones, shadows and highlights are used to achieve a more realistic effect.

[Smart Folders]

Supports pressing and holding app folders on the Home screen to enlarge them and make it easier to access the apps in them.

[Notification Panel and Control Panel]

Allows you to swipe down from the upper-left side of the screen to access the notification panel to display notifications, as well as swipe down from the upper-right side of the screen to access the control panel for the benefit of shortcuts.

Adds an audio control panel to the panel to make it easier to switch between different audio devices and apps. Allows you to quickly enable cross-screen collaboration by tapping icons for Huawei laptops and tablets in the “Device+” section of the control panel.

[Cooperative Security]

Adds a cooperative authentication feature between mobile phones and laptops that allows you to unlock your phone by entering the password to unlock the screen for the phone on the Huawei laptop when the phone and laptop are connected via cross-screen cooperation.

[Cross-Device File Management]

Supports accessing documents or pictures on the phone from a laptop without having to connect the two devices with a data cable.

[Huawei Share]

Improves Huawei Share transfer speed for faster file sharing between Huawei phones, tablets and laptops.

    do you know if can switch Notification Panel and Control Panel back to the old one? The new is unusable. 🙁
