We’ve all been there: you log into your Spotify account and immediately notice that the music recommendations are drastically different than what you’re used to. It’s a frustrating experience, but don’t worry – we have a solution for you.
Spotify accounts can easily be shared among family members or friends, which may lead to someone else accessing your account without permission and changing the music recommended to them rather than yourself. This is why it’s important to take steps towards protecting your Spotify account from unauthorized access as well as ensuring that only content relevant for yourself is being recommended back at you.
We are sure it has happened to all of us at some point, and if it hasn’t, then in this guide we will show you the steps to prevent it from happening to you:
Step 1: Open Spotify.
Step 2: Open that playlist that someone else listens to and you don’t want the songs on that playlist to affect your song recommendation.
Step 3: Go to the playlist settings by tapping on the three dots situated beside the download button.
Step 4: Look at the bottom of the menu and select the option “Exclude from your taste profile.”
And this is it. After following all these procedures, your music recommendation will not be affected by someone else’s music taste who may use your account occasionally.
