iQOO 7 Receives Android 13-Based FuntouchOS 13 Update

Vivo’s spinoff iQOO has started rolling out the FuntouchOS 13 back in October. The iQOO Neo 6 became the brand’s first smartphone to receive the new Android 13 build that month. Now, two months later, the update has gone live for another eligible smartphone – iQOO 7. The OEM has started pushing the Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 update for iQOO 7 and it comes with several new and exciting features. The update can be easily identified as it comes with the software version PD2055F_EX_A_8.70.29. Currently, the update is only available for a selected number of users and a broader rollout is expected in the coming days and weeks.

iQOO 7 came out with Android 11 OS out of the box and the Android 13 update will be its first major OS update. The update weighs a hefty 4.67 GB, which means you will need to connect your device to a high-speed Wi-Fi connection and have ample battery backup to seamlessly install this update.

As for the features, the Android 13 update will come with more color palettes, an option to hide photos in the gallery app, the ability to see the notification permission icon on the notification panel, new phone cooling features to the iManager, and more. There are also essential features like per app language, a new music player for quick panel, a new clipboard, photo privacy, and more.

If you’re an iQOO 7 user who hasn’t received the update yet, you should be patient as you’ll be receiving it in the coming days and weeks. You can expect to receive the FuntouchOS 13 OTA update notification soon. In case the notifications aren’t working, you can manually check for the update in the Settings menu. You should head over to Settings -> System Update and then tap on the gear icon located in the top right corner and request the new update.
