Galaxy A72 gets a new update with May security patch, video call effects, and camera improvements

Samsung Galaxy A72 is the company’s latest device to receive May 2021 security patch update. It carries firmware version A725FXXU2AUE1 and currently rolling out in select regions including Russia.

The latest update for Galaxy A72 is more than just a new security patch update. It brings optimizations to camera performance, call quality, and file sharing using Quick share. In addition to this, the update brings video call effects feature which allows users to add a custom background to the video calls made with apps such as Duo, Zoom, etc. 

May 2021 security patch for Samsung phones fixes 3 critical CVEs, 24 high CVEs, and 17 moderate CVE’s, better known as security vulnerabilities. Currently, the update is rolling out in select regions and should reach the remaining markets in the coming weeks. To manually check for the latest update, head over to Settings >> Software updates and then tap on Download and install.

Samsung announced the Galaxy A72 back in March this year with Android 11 pre-installed. The device has been placed under the quarterly update schedule. So, users may experience a delay in receiving software updates.
