Samsung Galaxy Fold gets July 2022 security update

Samsung has now started distributing the July 2022 security patch update to the original Galaxy Fold. As of now, the latest OTA update is rolling out in India and Sri Lanka. It should expand to more regions in the coming weeks.

Samsung has pushed a new security update to the Galaxy Fold that carries the model number SM-F900F. The latest build comes with the firmware version F900FXXS6HVG3. According to a report from Sammobile, the update mainly brings the July 2022 security patch. However, it also includes system stability improvements and general bug fixing.

The July 2022 security patch for Samsung Galaxy phones fixes over 50 vulnerabilities of different severity level to enhance the system security and user privacy. The vulnerabilities are linked to Samsung Finder, Knoxguard lock, Messages app, Contacts storage, Wearable Manager Installer, and more. It’s recommended to have the latest security patch on your phone. Hence, install the update on your Galaxy Fold as soon as it becomes available.

Galaxy Fold July 2022 security update

If you are a Samsung Galaxy Fold user in India or Sri Lanka, you might have already received the update. In case you have not yet received a notification for the update, go to Settings >> Software update and tap on Download and install to update your phone.

The Galaxy Fold is the first foldable phone from Samsung released in 2019 with Android 9 Pie OS. It has already received three major OS updates. Hence, the device is now running on Android 12.
