Samsung Galaxy S20 FE gets a new update with camera improvements and a new security patch

Samsung starts rolling out a new software update to Galaxy S20 FE users in India. It brings the security patch released on April 1, 2021 and several camera improvements. Earlier this month, the company sent May 2021 security patch to Galaxy S20 FE but that was only spotted in select European markets.

The latest update for Galaxy S20 FE Indian model carries PDA build version G780FXXU2CUE1. It also brings improvements to the overall device performance. Notably, the April 2021 security patch update was released for the Galaxy S20 FE in mid-April 2021. Please note that the Galaxy S20 FE refers to the 4G variant of the phone.

The May 2021 security update for Galaxy S20 FE added Dual Recording camera feature which allows users to capture videos using front and rear cameras simultaneously. But, there is no such mention in the new update for Galaxy S20 FE. However, we can expect the OEM to add the Dual Recording feature in the next update.

How to check for the latest update

    • Go to Settings
    • Scroll down and tap on Software updates
    • Then, Download & install the update, if available
  • Otherwise, wait for few days and try checking again
