Back in the day, Sony ruled the handheld segment with the PS Vita and PSP. But then Sony retired them, and now Nintendo is ruling this segment with the Nintendo Switch, but the hand-held game segment is getting more attention lately with more and more companies launching their products in this ever-growing segment.

In a report via Insider Gaming, Sony is coming back in the segment with a new hand-held code-named “The Q Lite.” The hand-held features an 8-inch LCD screen, and the design is similar to the PS5’s DualSense Controller.

The Q Lite will be able to screen stream games via PlayStation Remote Play, but it will not be able to play games on its own without an Internet connection. It remains to be seen whether it will support other cloud gaming platforms or not.

The Q Lite will have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and it will be able to play games at 1080p resolution at 60 fps.

The Q Lite is expected to be launched around September this year, along with the new PlayStation 5 with a detachable disc drive.
