Sony updates Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV to Android 13

Android is the newest version of the Android platform’s OS. The update has become available for most flagship and high-end devices. Google has also released Android 13 almost two months ago and since then, many devices have received the update while more devices are expected to join the list in the coming months. Now, Sony has officially announced the Android 13 update for two of its devices – Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV. Although Sony isn’t that popular for releasing fast updates, Sony also doesn’t take much time to release the update for eligible smartphones. One of the biggest benefits that Sony has is the small number of devices that the OEM has to provide.

If you’re an Xperia 1 IV or Xperia 5 IV user, you will be receiving the OTA update notification on your smartphone. If for some reason the OTA notification isn’t working on your smartphone, you can manually check for updates from Settings in some time intervals. The most important part is that you should take a backup of all the important data before you update your device and have more than 60% charge.
