Samsung Galaxy A50 is not a member of the monthly security patch devices list as the company has already demoted the device to quarterly releases. Despite being a member of quarterly releases, the Galaxy A50 is receiving the June 2022 security update way earlier than many premium smartphones from other brands.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A50 has been released on the Verizon network in the United States. It comes with the firmware version RP1A.200720.012.A505USQSJDVE1. According to the changelog, the Galaxy A50 is only getting the June 2022 security patch. It does not include anything like new features or performance tweaks. However, the device’s security and privacy have been upgraded.
This is the 31st system update for the Galaxy A50 on Verizon. Hopefully, it will be available on other US carriers in the coming week. We are not sure when the June 2022 security update will reach other regions as Samsung is following a quarterly schedule for the device.
If you are a Samsung Galaxy A50 user on the Verizon network, the update might have already reached your phone. In case you’ve missed the update notification, navigate to System >> Software updates and tap on Download and install to update your phone.
