Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gets February 2021 security patch update

Samsung recently updated the Galaxy Note 9 with February 2021 security patch in Germany. Now, the update has started rolling out to Verizon based Galaxy Note 9 in the US. The security patch fixes different levels of exploits, which in turn increases the device security.

The Galaxy Note 9 was launched back in 2018 with Android 8.1 OS. Later, the device received two major OS upgrades in the form of Android 9 and Android 10. And, the device is no longer eligible to receive another OS update, Android 11. But, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will continue to receive security updates for 4 years from the date of launch. 

The latest security update for Galaxy Note 9 comes with firmware version N960USQS7FUA1. This is a minor update and does not add any new features to the device. Galaxy Note 9 users can check for the latest build by navigating to Settings -> Software update and then tap on Download and install.
