ZTE Axon 7 gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update in the United States.

ZTE, the smartphone manufacturer that has launched the Axon 7 smartphone had promised to give the smartphone with a Nougat update as soon as possible. Last month, ZTE kept its promise of delivering the Nougat update to the Axon 7 but the update was Android 7.0 and not the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. The Android Nougat 7.0 update brought Google Daydream VR support to the Axon 7. The Nougat 7.0 update to the Axon 7 was available as an OTA download. The software version that came with it was A2017UV1.1.0B15 and the file size was about 1.81GB. The changelog mentioned that the ZTE Axon7 update comes with Google Daydream VR support.

Now, ZTE has announced that its Axon 7 smartphone will be getting the new Android 7.1.1 Nougat which brings further improvements to ZTE Axon 7. The update is now live and available for download which can be done by heading to Settings > About Device > System Updates.

The updated version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat brings with it several new features which includes Wi-Fi Calling support for T-Mobile, and an update and optimization to Daydream VR. Further, Axon 7 users with Android 7.1.1 Nougat can now use a wider range of gender-equal emojis.

Apart from all the new Nougat features, users will also get the February security patch installed on their device as well as several performance improvements and bug fixes. There is one disappointment in this update which is that the Axon 7 will not be getting the latest March Security Patch in this update but rather it will get the February Security Patch and the company has not stated the release date of March Security Patch for the Axon 7.
